yes, thats right. Ive signed up for a white collar mma match for charity. But what dose that mean? Well, I and many others have signed up for 8 weeks of training. Most people who sign up have next to no expscrince in a fight. We train three days a week, practicing striking, throws, locks, and how to get out of them. we rasie money for a charity of our choosing. And then at the end of the eight weeks, we fight in a cage match.

Unlike the UFC, we have a lot more rules when it comes to the final fight, for exaple: were not allowed to hit someones head once their on the ground. were also not allowed to hit people with our ellbows, as they can cause serious damage. Not to mention we wear more padding and protction than the UFC fighters. We also have shorter rounds.

But why would anyone want to take part in a white collar mma match?

Well, most of us end up watching someone we care about do one. We watch our friends or family in the cage, and we want to get in and fight. Or well, at least that's how it felt for me. I was itching to get in the cage. Whilst I'd seen my dad in a few white collar boxing matches. I signed up after watching what would have been my cousin's second mma match. I said to him, that if he signed up for the next event, that I would too. And here I am. On week 4 of training. Raising money for the YMCA scarborough, to help keep the building warm this winter, especially as the university students of Coventry spend a lot of time there. As a recent graduate of the uni, i know how much using the space meant to us, as well as the community. Fundraising for the YMCA is my way of thanking them for all the work and effort they have put in, to allow us to use the building as our main space.

Our Goals

When signing up, we all agreed to sell 10 tickets, whether that be the standard tickets, (£25) or the VIP Table (£50, although the VIP needs to be bought in 2 payments.) As Well as raising at least £50 for a charity of our choosing. Unfortunately if we don't meet these targets, then we might not be able to fight. So we do really appreciate it when our friends and family support us. However, we don't know how many tickets we have sold under our names, unless you tell us personally. If anyone would feel kind enough to donate, I'll leave the go fund me link here: https://tr.ee/ncMr5WD-pE

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me.
