So, How was the MMA Fight???

Whilst I may have lost the fight 58 seconds into the fight. ( spoiller alert) I’m not disappointed in myself. I was actually quite happy with how long I was there for. Not only will most people not take part in such a sport. But I also spent most of the time grappling on the floor, being held in various choke holds, and escaping out of them.

I knew my opponent's ( Nici Goundrill) strength was grappling, as she said she started taking some grappling classes when she signed up for the fight back in april.  But also because in professional fights, the naked choke hold (which she had me in for 50 out of those 58 seconds of the match) I kept breaking free and constantly fighting against it.

In the week before the fight, we had some professional photos taken for our match up. Whilst i knew who i’d be fighting, there was only one other woman who showed up for training. It was great to see who everyone was paired up with, as some people were surprised with who they ended up with. But because I knew who I was facing from very early on, the guy announced who we would be facing and I had a bit of banta as it was obvious, which was nice.

The week of the fight, I knew that if she got me to the ground, ( which was and I knew would be her game plan) that she was probably going to win.  So coming to accept that a few days before probably helped me feel less disappointed in myself after the match. Don't get me wrong, the day before my confidence went back up. So don't get me wrong,  I wasn't going into the match thinking I was going to lose. But I had come to the acceptance of either outcome.  So when the match was over, I was quite thrilled with the outcome, and quite positive.

I would definitely do another white collar mma, just maybe not for a while, as the closet one to me was in Hull. Which is about an hour and a half travel, and a it's bit pricey.  However, its definitely an experience I would recommend to most people. Anyone who is competitive, or loves sport or martial arts will definitely enjoy it. And the thing is, When one friend, or family member does one. They tend to inspire someone else to do one as well.  As someone who had seen my dad and cousin do one of the White Collar MMA or the Boxing events they do, I decided to sign up and join my cousin in this past event. To which my dad said that he was also going to sign up to this event as it has been awhile since he's done one of the mma’s. As well as one of my friends from uni said that she'd love to do one, either with me or in her home city, which i said that id go to support her. Which took me by surprise, But then again, I took my cousin by surprise when I said that I'd do the next fight with him.

Thank you all for Reading.
